Signatures & Forms

FieldGenius supports digital signature capture and structured completion forms so you can document customer approval and job outcomes without paper.

When Signatures Are Requested

Your company configures which job types require a customer signature. The signature prompt appears automatically at two points:

• Before work begins — for authorization to proceed (e.g., diagnostic fee consent)
• After job completion — for customer acceptance of the work performed

A signature badge appears on the job card when one is required and has not yet been collected.

Capturing a Signature

1. Complete the relevant workflow stage (pre-work or post-work).
2. Tap Get Signature when prompted.
3. Hand your device to the customer.
4. The customer signs with their finger or a stylus directly on the signature pad that fills the screen.
5. Tap Accept to confirm, or Clear to let the customer redo the signature.

The signature screen locks the rest of the app while it's open, so customers cannot accidentally navigate away or view other job data.

Completion Forms & Checklists

Beyond signatures, many job types include a structured completion form — a set of fields the technician fills out to document the outcome:

• Equipment model and serial number confirmed
• Work performed (multi-select from a predefined list)
• Parts installed
• Follow-up recommended (yes/no with notes)
• Warranty applied

Tap each field to fill it in. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk. You cannot mark a job complete until all required form fields are filled.

Customer Sign-Off Workflow

The full post-job sign-off sequence looks like this:

After the signature is captured, the customer receives an email or SMS confirmation (based on company settings) that includes:

• Summary of work performed
• Invoice total and payment method
• Technician name
• A PDF copy of the signed completion form

Viewing Signed Documents

Signed documents are stored in DramTrade under the job record. In FieldGenius, tap any completed job and scroll to the Documents section to view or share the signed PDF.

Signatures captured offline are queued for upload. Until the device reconnects, the signed document will show a "Pending Sync" badge. Do not delete the job record before syncing.
