Managing Jobs

How to view, accept, and work through jobs in FieldGenius — from the job list to payment collection.

The Jobs screen is the heart of FieldGenius. Every job dispatched to you from DramTrade appears here, sorted by scheduled time.

Job List View

Each job card shows:

  • Customer name and service address
  • Scheduled date and time window
  • Job type (e.g., HVAC Repair, Plumbing Inspection)
  • Current status badge: Unassigned, Assigned, En Route, In Progress, Completed

Tap a card to open the full job detail view.

Accepting or Declining a Job

When a new job is dispatched to you, a push notification fires with the job summary. Open the notification or tap the card in your list.

  • Tap Accept to claim the job. The status updates to Assigned and the dispatcher is notified.
  • Tap Decline to pass. You'll be prompted for a brief reason which is logged in DramTrade.
Declining a job does not remove it from your list until the dispatcher reassigns it to another technician.

En Route & Navigation

When you're ready to head to a job, tap Mark En Route. This timestamps your departure and notifies the customer via SMS if the company has that setting enabled.

Tap the Navigate button to open the address in Apple Maps or Google Maps (based on your OS preference).

Active Job Workflow

Once you arrive and tap Start Job, the job enters the active workflow. Work through each tab in order:

1. Checklist

A pre-configured arrival checklist specific to the job type. Check off each item as you confirm it. All items must be marked before you can advance.

2. Diagnose

Free-form notes and structured diagnostic fields. Record equipment model numbers, fault codes, measurements, and observations. Voice-to-text is supported — tap the microphone icon next to any text field.

3. Quote

Build the on-site quote using your company's price book. See the On-Site Invoicing article for full detail.

4. Photos

Capture before, during, and after photos tied directly to the job record. See Photos & Attachments.

5. Payment

Collect customer payment on-site. See On-Site Invoicing for payment methods.

Completing a Job

After payment is collected (or marked as invoiced), tap Complete Job. You'll be prompted to capture a customer signature if required by your company's settings. See Signatures & Forms.

The job status updates to Completed in DramTrade automatically, and all notes, photos, and payment data sync to the customer record.

Push Notifications

New job assignments, schedule changes, and customer messages generate push notifications. Ensure notifications are enabled in your device settings under FieldGenius. Notification types:

  • New job assigned to you
  • Job time window updated
  • Customer message received
  • Dispatcher note added
